Tankless Water Heater Installation in Los Angeles

Replacing an aging water heater or making the switch from a tank? T-MAX plans the equipment, piping and installation around your home’s hot-water demand.

Installation, replacement or a tank-to-tankless conversion?

A straightforward replacement and a first-time tankless installation can involve very different work. We inspect the existing equipment, available space and utility connections before recommending a scope. For a conversion, we also plan how to remove the tank and route the new water, gas and vent connections.

Tell us how many bathrooms you have, which fixtures run together and where you wait longest for hot water. Those details help us size a system for the way you actually use the house.

Choosing between Navien, Noritz and Rinnai

We can discuss Navien, Noritz and Rinnai options against your installation requirements. Brand is one part of the decision: hot-water output at the required temperature rise, indoor or outdoor location, service access and recirculation compatibility all matter. We verify the selected model’s requirements before finalizing the installation plan.

Venting and gas sizing are part of the job

A new heater should not be connected to an old vent just because the pipes can be joined. We review the vent material, diameter, routing, length and termination against the specific heater’s instructions. Condensing models also need an appropriate condensate drainage arrangement.

For gas-fired equipment, we evaluate gas demand, pipe size and run length alongside the other appliances on the system. Where the existing supply or venting needs changes, we include that work in the proposed scope. Required permits and inspection arrangements are addressed before installation.

Recirculation for distant bathrooms and kitchens

A tankless heater does not remove the cold water already sitting in a long hot-water pipe. A compatible recirculation system can reduce the wait at distant fixtures. We review existing return piping or the route for a new dedicated return line, including accessible basement or crawl-space routes.

The pump, controls, check valves and heater settings must work together. We explain the available approach and any effect on operation before you choose it.

Access for maintenance and a proper startup

We plan access to service valves, filters and other maintenance points. After installation, we check connections, verify operation and review temperature settings with you. Descaling and cleaning needs depend on water quality, usage and the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule.

If mineral buildup is a concern, we can also discuss water filtration and treatment. If you prefer a storage tank, see our water heater installation service.

Request an installation estimate

Send your Los Angeles project location, the current heater’s model and a few photos showing the heater, vent and nearby piping. A site visit lets us confirm access, routing and the final scope. T-MAX is a California C-36 plumbing contractor, CSLB #1110370.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace my existing tankless heater with a different brand?

Yes, we can evaluate a different brand or model. Water and gas connections, venting, condensate drainage and recirculation compatibility must be checked; an existing installation is not automatically compatible.

Will tankless hot water reach my shower instantly?

Not necessarily. Water in the pipe must still travel from the heater to the shower. We can evaluate a compatible recirculation system to reduce that wait.

Does converting from a tank require a larger gas line?

It depends on the selected heater, total connected demand and the existing gas piping. We assess the supply before determining which upgrades are needed.

How often will the heater need maintenance?

The interval depends on the manufacturer, local water conditions and usage. We review the recommended schedule and provide access for flushing and routine service.
